Almost half of all rape victims experience the first rape before age 18 (National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 2010). However, navigating services for teens can be a challenge. CCASA tracks our Technical Assistance requests from our member programs, and recognized that many member programs routinely have questions regarding the application of Colorado statutes as they relate to cases involving minors. Because of this need, we are proud to introduce the first edition of the CCASA Teen Toolkit: Resources Regarding Consent, Confidentiality, Access, and Service Provision for Victims of Sexual Violence Who are Minors. Each CCASA member agency will receive one free hard copy of the Teen Toolkit. Additional hard copies can be ordered for $15 on our website. You can also download it from our website at no cost. MAJ Ali Englert, Peggy Moore-McCoy, Lizzy Slatt and Karen Moldovan provided training at CCASA’s Spring Regional in Denver on May 14-15 that focused on military and civilian partnerships to serve survivors of sexual violence. We had a great group of committed professionals and trainers, thank you!

This 2-day training will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center Hotel, and will address a range of topics in the criminal justice and community response to gender-based violence, including both sexual assault and intimate partner violence. CCASA’s Board of Directors is currently recruiting individuals to fill open positions. We are looking for board members from across the state who are committed to ending sexual violence in Colorado, subscribe to our organizational values, and who have interest and expertise in nonprofit governance, fundraising, legal issues, human resources, and marketing. We are a small, working board dedicated to the Coalition’s success, and we welcome all applications for 2-year terms with the Board.
